You will visit the Macaw Sanctuary at El Manantial. The sanctuary not only offers a place of refuge and protection to macaws such as the Scarlet Macaw, but also various species of monkey including the Spider Monkey and the tamarin Monkey as well as local species of Jaguars. Located in Aranjuez de Puntarenas, be sure to bring your camera to capture shots of free flying endangered birds as well as butterflies.
Continue on a short boat trip in the nearby mangrove forest where you will see various birdlife including pelicans and egrets as well as crocodiles sunning on the banks. If you listen closely you will also hear monkeys and may even see them if you keep your eyes peeled!
